Colombian boxer Luis Quiñones has been forced into an artificial coma due to injuries sustained in a fight against Venezuelan Jose Muñoz for the country’s light welterweight title. RDS reports .
The fight took place in Colombia’s Barranquilla on Saturday and ended with Munoz winning by eighth-round knockout. Quiñones, 25, lost consciousness and was taken to hospital. He was operated on and put in an artificial coma for 48 hours, doctors give cautious recovery forecasts.
In the professional ring, Quinones had 10 wins (6 by knockout), suffered one loss.
