Caroline Dubois will defend her WBC and WBO lightweight world titles against Amelia Moore in Birmingham on Saturday, August 29, on a card headlined by Chantelle Cameron's clash with Mikaela Mayer for the unified welterweight world championship.
The bout, part of the MVPW-06 event at the bp pulse LIVE arena, will be shown live on Sky Sports. Dubois goes into the fight unbeaten in 13 fights with one draw, while Moore, a former multiple Olympic cycle amateur, is unbeaten in four professional fights.
Dubois said her ambitions stretch well beyond Saturday's undercard defence, with becoming undisputed champion of the division her long term target. Two other champions currently hold belts in the weight class: Stephanie Han and Elif Nur Turhan.
"For me, the biggest timeline has to be becoming undisputed," Dubois told Sky Sports. "Whichever one makes the most sense, whichever one is more feasible and accessible for the next fight, we have to go after that. It's about sending a message to the rest of the 135ers that the queen is in town and this is what's up, I'm coming for the belts."
Dubois and Moore face off in Birmingham
Dubois and Moore shared a tense face off on Tuesday ahead of the fight. Moore insisted she is unshakeable, while Dubois said she has seen nothing in her opponent that concerns her.
"These are my belts, I've worked very hard for them and Amelia Moore isn't going to do anything to take them from me," Dubois said. "She was around for three Olympic cycles and I qualified first time. I remember going to Colorado and doing an international training camp and she was there. She turned professional of course, she slipped off the radar and now she's back so we'll see."
Dubois added that she felt no pressure heading into the fight. "I just can't wait to step into the ring, punch her in the face and get this over with," she said. "We're going to see vintage Caroline Dubois and we're going to see complete domination. I'm not going to focus too much on getting the stoppage. I just know I'm going to go out there and do my thing, which is going to be look very good and look very exciting. Body, head, attacks, aggressive, vintage."
Dubois' most recent fight was a unanimous decision win over Terri Harper.
Baumgardner set to attend fight
Dubois said she was pleased to learn that Alycia Baumgardner, the unified junior lightweight champion, is expected to be ringside for her fight against Moore. Baumgardner has previously said Dubois still needs to prove herself before earning a fight against her.
"I didn't know that. Is that true? I need to see her, this is great," Dubois said. "I'm going to go to the gym with a smile on my face. I'm very excited, I can't wait! Boxing is about rivalries, it's about clashes. With myself and Alycia, I think we're the only two girls right now, besides Claressa Shields, who's confident enough to say: 'I believe I'm going to take your head off your shoulders and I believe I'm the best in the division.'"
Dubois accuses Baumgardner of playing it safe
Despite her enthusiasm at Baumgardner's expected presence, Dubois maintained her criticism of the American, calling her "lost" for not agreeing to fight her.
"Alycia likes to play it safe. She's been beaten already. Once you lose in professional boxing, unfortunately, people can be very cutthroat and forget all you did to get there," Dubois said. "She wanted to fight Amanda Serrano. She wanted to fight Katie Taylor. She wanted to fight all these women who are retiring and are at the end of their careers. She did not want to go after the big dogs because she knows how dangerous it can be. I just see Alycia as being such an exciting fight for myself."

Baumgardner will move up a division to face Elif Nur Turhan for the IBF lightweight world title on November 8, also live on Sky Sports, a move that brings a potential showdown between Baumgardner and Dubois a step closer.
