The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) held the draw for the 2026 Copa do Brasil quarterfinals on Tuesday, setting the matchups and which club hosts each first leg. The event began at 11 a.m. at CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.

Eight clubs remain in contention for four semifinal places: Palmeiras, Santos, Vasco, Atletico-MG, Cruzeiro, Gremio, Internacional and Vitoria. There are no restrictions between teams at this stage, which produced three state derbies: Palmeiras against Santos, Atletico-MG against Cruzeiro, and Internacional against Gremio. Vasco faces Vitoria in the fourth tie.

Fixtures and dates

The first-leg matches are Internacional vs Gremio, Cruzeiro vs Atletico-MG, Vasco vs Vitoria and Palmeiras vs Santos, with a base date of August 26, a Wednesday. The return legs follow a week later, on September 3: Gremio vs Internacional, Atletico-MG vs Cruzeiro, Vitoria vs Vasco and Santos vs Palmeiras.

Palmeiras hosts the first leg against Santos at Nubank Parque, with the return at Vila Belmiro. Vasco hosts Vitoria first at Sao Januario, before the return at the Barradao. Cruzeiro hosts Atletico-MG first at the Mineirao, with the return at Arena MRV. Internacional hosts Gremio first at the Beira-Rio, with the return at Arena do Gremio.

Path to the final

The winners of Vasco vs Vitoria and Palmeiras vs Santos will meet in one semifinal, while the winners of Gremio vs Internacional and Cruzeiro vs Atletico-MG will meet in the other. Of the eight remaining clubs, two are from Sao Paulo state, two from Minas Gerais, two from Rio Grande do Sul, one from Rio de Janeiro and one from Bahia.

Julio Avellar, CBF's director of competitions, spoke during the event about the introduction of semi-automated offside technology in the competition.
