Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is on the verge of completing a transfer to Italian champions Inter Milan in a deal worth around £30 million following summer-long negotiations between the two clubs.
Daily Mail Sport understands that Inter Milan have offered £26.7 million up front plus £4 million in performance-related add-ons, alongside a 10 per cent sell-on clause. The Italian side had previously seen an opening bid of around £21 million turned down by Liverpool earlier in the summer transfer window.
The six-time England international, who first joined Liverpool's academy at nine years old, has had his heart set on a move to Italy's Serie A for some time after failing to establish himself as a regular starter at Anfield.

Italian press expect an official announcement on the transfer to follow shortly and report that a medical examination has already been scheduled for the player in Italy.
If the deal is finalized, Jones will become the third English player to join Inter Milan during the current transfer window. The Milan club, who play their home matches at the San Siro, have already secured defender John Stones on a free transfer from Manchester City and signed fullback Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool squad reshuffle under Andoni Iraola
The impending departure comes as Liverpool prepare for their first campaign under new manager Andoni Iraola, who replaced Arne Slot following the Dutchman's dismissal at the end of last season.
Liverpool captured the 2024-25 Premier League title after spending over £450 million on new signings last summer, including striker Alexander Isak, playmaker Florian Wirtz and forward Hugo Ekitike. However, the Merseyside club struggled to replicate that success in their single season under Slot, ultimately finishing fifth in the Premier League table and only narrowly securing qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

The club have already undergone significant squad changes ahead of the new campaign, having waved farewell to senior figures Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson and Ibrahima Konate at the start of the summer window.
Liverpool have so far brought in two new players to rebuild their squad, recruiting centre-half Jeremy Jacquet from French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais and left winger Victor Munoz from Spanish La Liga side Osasuna.

Although theoretically all first-team places are up for grabs under Iraola, Jones has been viewed primarily as a squad player at Anfield in recent seasons.
The midfielder has regularly played second fiddle to fellow central midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Wirtz during Slot's tenure and previously under former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
