Pavlyuchenko called for the return of the “spring-autumn” system in Russian football

Former Spartak and Russian national team striker Roman Pavlyuchenko said that in Russian football it is necessary to play according to the “spring-autumn” system.

On Tuesday, Russian Football Union (RFU) Deputy General Secretary Denis Rogachev said the organization could consider switching to the spring-autumn system, including in the WORLD of the Russian Premier League (RPL), if a such an initiative came from the clubs.

— I like the “spring-autumn” system – I started and finished – rather than endure everything. Also preparation for the season: spent and free. And so you prepare first, then pause, then prepare again. Suddenly, you continue the championship, we do not know in what form. I am in favor of the “spring-autumn” return, Pavlyuchenko told Sport24.

Russian football competitions have been held according to the autumn-spring system since the 2011/12 season, the calendar is synchronized with the main European leagues.

You can watch live broadcasts of MIR RPL matches on the channel and thematic channels of the holding, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
