Athletistic / Football. Barcelona head coach Xavi has spoken about the state of midfielders Frenkie de Jong and Pedri. During the La Liga matchday 27 match against Atlético Madrid (0:0), both midfielders were seriously injured.
“It is unfortunate that two important players were injured today. These injuries do not look good. These losses have had a huge impact on our team. It is likely that there will be serious injuries. We are sad because of Jong and Pedri are susceptible, they will miss time,” quotes Marca Xavi.
Pedri and Frenkie de Jong left the field during the first half of the match against Athletic. The players have not yet undergone a thorough medical examination, but their symptoms indicate muscle damage, due to which they are unlikely to return to the field before April.
Barcelona have 58 points after 27 matches and are in third place in the La Liga table.
