Two players left the field with suspected concussions
In the match Carpathians – Kryvbas (3:0) a unique event took place – for the first time in history UPL The teams held a six substitutions.
This became possible thanks to a new rule concerning player safety – an additional substitution in case of suspected concussion. It should be noted that this rule was previously used in the Ukrainian Cup.
Let us recall that in the first half of the match Karpaty – Kryvbas the Kryvyi Rih midfielder Yegor Tverdokhlib left the field. Already in the stoppage time the Lviv team made a forced additional substitution, replacing the injured Artur Ryabov.
Karpaty won their first victory after returning to the UPL and earned four points. Vernydub’s team was left with three points. On Thursday, August 15, they will play the return match of the LE qualification in Pilsen, and three days later Kryvbas will travel to visit Veres as part of the UPL. Karpaty will host Dynamo in the third round on August 17.
First in history #UPL the teams made more than 5 substitutions – 6 each in the Karpaty – Kryvbas match. And this does not violate the regulations. There is a new rule about additional replacement through the brain.
