Ukrainian tennis player Ludmila Kichenok dropped out of the tournament WTA 1000 in American Cincinnati.
Kichenok competed in doubles together with Elena Ostapenko from Latvia. In the 1/8 finals the duo met with the pair Tereza Michalkova / Olivia Nicholls (Slovakia / Great Britain).
In the first set, Kichenok and Ostapenko gave up one of their serves, failing to win back. In the second set, Lyudmila and Elena won back two match points, made a return break, but lost their serve again in the next game.
Earlier, Lyudmila Kichenok beat the American tandem Lauren Davis / Robin Montgomery. Her sister, Nadezhda Kichenok, lost in the first round.
