In Singapore, both Aston Martin drivers finished in the top ten with 12 points, the team’s best result of the season…
Lance Walk (6th): “I’m happy to have finished sixth – this is my best result of the season. Sebastian also performed successfully, we earned a lot of points in the end. A well deserved result for a team working hard this weekend been.
Difficult breed. Throughout the race the track was slippery as the asphalt dried up very slowly on Saturday – it was not easy to avoid problems. To switch to slicks, we waited for the areas where the new asphalt had been laid to dry.
We have moved up two positions in the Constructors’ Championship, which is important for the team and will give us a good boost in the remaining races.”
Sebastian Vettel (8th): “I think we can be satisfied with the result and a lot of points for the team. In such difficult circumstances this was not easy to achieve.
The asphalt did not dry out for long, it was extremely important to choose the optimal moment for the transition to slicks. Maybe we made a pit stop too early, but I’m happy with the result.
I had a great start, the first lap was fun – I didn’t wait for what was going to happen, acted aggressively and won back a few places. After that I tried to take care of the intermediate tires – we knew the track would dry out very slowly.
In the last laps I fought Lewis and Max and actively defended my position – it’s a shame Max still took the lead on the last lap.
