Auction house RM Sotheby’s has auctioned the Ferrari F2003-GA, with which Michael Schumacher drove nine Grand Prix in the 2003 season.
The Ferrari team built just six racing chassis in 2003. Collectors will be offered chassis number 229 – the most successful of all, with which Michael Schumacher spent nine Grand Prix and won five – in Spain, Austria, Canada, Italy and the USA. In addition, behind the wheel of this particular car, Michael held the Japanese Grand Prix, making him the first six-time world champion in history.
The Ferrari F2003-GA for sale in 2022 was given a facelift at the Maranello team base and received almost completely new major components, including a gearbox, clutch, hydraulics and a three-litre V10 engine, covering a range of slightly more than 230 kilometers.
The auction will take place on November 9 in Geneva. RM Sotheby’s has not disclosed the Ferrari F2003-GA’s initial price, but past auction experiences suggest the new owner will have to pay several million euros for the legendary race car.
