FIA delays release of survey data on F1 teams going over budget in 2021 – media

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has decided to postpone the publication of details of the teams’ investigation “Formula 1” which are believed to go over budget in 2021, according to journalist Andrew Benson.

According to him, the FIA management plans to publish the results on October 10. This decision was taken due to the leak of information in the media on the details of the investigation.

Earlier media reported that the FIA has launched an investigation into Red Bull, which exceeded the limit of $147.4 million in 2021. Official audit data from last year will be provided shortly. In the event of proven violation of the financial regulations, sanctions may be applied to the team. Red Bull will be able to avoid a hefty fine if the violation does not exceed 5% of the $147.4 million limit.

In 2021, Formula 1 had a financial regulation that required teams to incorporate their expenses of $147.4 million per season. From 2026, the limit will be 130 million.
