Magnussen: We’re going to try to recapture seventh place

On Thursday, at a press conference in Suzuka, Kevin Magnussen summed up the difficult final race – and talked about the end-of-season task…

Kevin Magnussen: “Qualifying in Singapore took place on a drying track, it was fun to fight in mixed conditions – and I made it to the final. But in the race things turned out differently. In such circumstances everyone has a chance to earn points, but unfortunately I didn’t have one.

I had a terrible start, lost a lot of positions and then damaged the front wing. They showed me the black and orange flag, had to go into the pits, replace the front fender and I was behind for the rest of the race.

We are three points behind Aston Martin in the Constructors’ Championship, it will be very difficult to win them back. Now we hardly earn points, but there is always a chance – maybe we will be lucky on a track. We spent most of the season in seventh place in the Constructors’ Championship, which would have been a great position after a few years with the Haas F1 in last place. It would be great to climb several places at once, so we’re going to try it.”
