Fernando Alonso will soon say goodbye to Alpine, but in the sports department of the French carmaker, they decided to perpetuate the memory of his achievements in their own way, as he won both his titles at the wheel of the Renault works team cars.
Alpine will release a limited edition of the A110 R sports car in the exclusive Fernando Alonso version, which will be limited to 32 copies – the number of Spaniards Formula 1 victories.
All cars in the series are painted in the same color as the cars of the Alpine F1 team, decorated with nameplates with the driver’s signature, and bright orange inserts are used in the interior trim. Brake calipers are also the same color. In addition, there is a sign in the cabin listing all of the Spaniard’s victories and when the ignition is turned on, the inscription A110 R Fernando Alonso appears on the instrument panel.
But that’s not all: the driver’s motto is embroidered on the sun visor: “There is always more than one path to the top”, and future owners will receive a replica of Fernando’s racing helmet with his signature, complete with a car of the personalized series.
The presentation of the special edition Alpine A110 R took place in Japan before the start of the race weekend, but the price of the sports car in this version has not yet been announced. However, we can assume that it will cost less than the Ferrari 599 GTB 60F1 Alonso Edition, for which they asked a quarter of a million euros in 2012.
