Sebastian Vettel has been using Arai helmets since 1995 when he got serious about karting at the age of 8.
More than a quarter of a century has passed since then and the four-time world champion is already preparing to leave Formula 1, but still works on the track in such helmets. This weekend the Aston Martin driver decided to thank this company in his own way and in Suzuka he wears a helmet designed in a special way.
It looks like a box in which a rider gets a new Arai helmet, with all the details carefully reproduced, including the obligatory barcodes and labels like Treat with care (“Treat with care”) but it looks like the hieroglyphs on the helmet stand for the word “Thank you”.
Traditionally, Sebastian decorates his helmets with the German national flag, and even this design element looks quite original, as it is made in the form of packing adhesive tape.
As always, Vettel entrusted the design of the helmet to his longtime partners, the German company Jens Munser Designs.
