Two Formula 1 teams have confirmed their roster for the 2023 season: Pierre Gasly will be Esteban Ocon’s teammate at Alpine and Nick de Vries will take the Frenchman’s place at AlphaTauri. Together with de Vries, Yuki Tsunoda will continue to perform on AlphaTauri.
Pierre Gasly: “I am delighted to join the Alpine family and start a new chapter in my career. Playing for a team with French roots is something special. I know Alpine’s strengths because I’ve struggled with its riders over the years – the team’s progress and ambition is very impressive.
I want to thank Red Bull for nine years together. Their support and trust made me become a Formula 1 driver and our performance with AlphaTauri over the past few years has been truly phenomenal.
Speaking of the future, I want to do my best and use all my experience to fight for podiums and ultimately contribute to Alpine’s title challenge in the future.”
Nick de Vries: “I am very excited to join AlphaTauri for the 2023 season. I would like to thank both Red Bull teams for the opportunity to drive in Formula 1. After Formula 2 I drove in several race series, but I have always dreamed of Formula 1 and now I am grateful for this opportunity. I’ve had a lot of opportunities to evaluate the 2022 car and I think it helped me prepare for the upcoming season.
I spent most of my childhood karting in Italy, so I feel at home in this country and I am happy to join the Italian team. I look forward to meeting everyone to build relationships for next season.”
