For the Haas F1 drivers, the rainy Japanese Grand Prix was unsuccessful – the US team again failed to earn points. Kevin Magnussen finished 14th and Mick Schumacher crossed the finish line last.
Kevin Magnussen (14th): “There is not much to tell, it was another day when difficult weather conditions offered opportunities, but we were not able to take advantage of them and that is of course frustrating.”
Mick Schumacher (18th): “The car worked fine and was capable of a good pace, especially on the intermediate rubber, but unfortunately we delivered it too late.
But the positive aspects include the fact that at one point in the race we were in third place and even led for a few seconds. There was a chance to score points, but today we didn’t, although the car was certainly fast.”
Gunther Steiner, team leader: “We acted wrongly, chose tactics. We reacted too slowly to the situation on the track, did not foresee the development of events and ended up in last place.
Everyone understands that it is very difficult to make the right decisions, and in hindsight we are all strong. We need to analyze all our actions and understand what can be done better next time.”
