Red Bull driver Verstappen wins Formula 1 title for second consecutive time

Verstappen took first place in the Japanese Grand Prix, which was halted for two hours due to deteriorating weather conditions. The second was another team rider, the Mexican Sergio Perez. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc took third place with the fastest lap of the race. Monegasque finished second, but received a five-second penalty due to actions against the Mexican.

Thus, Perez and Leclerc lost their mathematical chances for the title. The 25-year-old Dutchman became a two-time Formula 1 champion earlier than expected.
