“What kind of tractor is on the track?” I can’t believe it!” — Gasley on the Japanese Grand Prix incident

team driverAlpha Tauri » Pierre Gasly spoke sharply about the presence of a tractor on the track during the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix.

The race was suspended on lap three by red flags, Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Alexander Albon (Williams) retired from the race. There was a recovery vehicle on the track.

– God! What is the?! What type of tractor is on the track? I rode beside him. It is unacceptable! What is happening? I can’t believe it,” the pilot said indignantly on the command radio.

Race management explained that Gasly, after entering the pits, returned to the track and hurried to catch up with the entire field already under red flags, exceeding the authorized speed. However, the presence of foreign equipment on the race track before all drivers have returned to the pits is unacceptable. The commissioners have taken this situation into consideration and will render a verdict later on Sunday.

In 2014, during the Japanese Grand Prix, French driver Jules Bianchi crashed into a tow truck and was injured, as a result of which he died a few months later.
