Alan Permain: “We have to re-analyze everything in a calm situation, but at that point it seemed to us that the race had stopped one lap earlier. If the race were to last one more lap, as we expected, Fernando could be ahead of Sebastian.
We probably should have made the last pit stop earlier, but at the time we didn’t know that new tires would give such an advantage and allow us to overtake. We saw it after Zhou changed tires and went five seconds faster. Then we also decided to make a pit stop.”
