Penalties after the Miami Grand Prix

In 2014, the FIA introduced a points system for riders who became involved in incidents or violations of the rules. If a pilot scores 12 points in 12 months, he will be taken out of the race, but this has not happened yet. Penalties expire 12 months after accrual.

In Miami, three riders received penalty points. Alonso – 2 points for collision with Gasly and 2 points for out of bounds advantage. Magnussen was awarded two points for a collision with Stroll and one point for Ricciardo, who overtook Magnussen outside the track.
