The NIO333 team extended the contract with Dan Tiktum, next season he will continue to play for this team and drive the third generation car (Gen3).
Last season in the electric series was the debut for Tiktum, while a veteran professional, he was once part of Red Bull’s youth program, became the winner of the Macau Grand Prix and vice-champion in the European F3 Championship.
Perhaps while mastering a new technique, Dan didn’t go well for him, his best result was only 10th place in Roman Formula E. Nevertheless, NIO333 decided to continue working with him in 2023.
Dan Tiktum visited the team’s base in Silverstone today to get a seat.
“As expected, I returned to the NIO base, now the fitting of the chair begins. But having driven a new generation car a few times already, this is a big step forward compared to Gen2, the 23-year-old Brit shared on social networks. “I have to say that I really like everything so far. I really want to get started as soon as possible in the new season, when a new era in electric racing begins.”
Sergio Sette Camara was confirmed at NIO333 last month and the Brazilian has already tested in a Gen3 car.
At the same time, Oliver Turvey is saying goodbye to the British-Chinese team, for which he has played since 2014, when it was still called China Racing, then NEXTEV, and only changed his sign to NIO in 2017. It is rumored that Oliver will now be part of McLaren’s new Formula E program, especially as he has been a test driver with the Woking team for a decade.
