Last week at Suzuka, Max Verstappen secured the world title and in the next round in Austin, Red Bull Racing is likely to win the constructors’ championship. Team chief designer Rob Marshall said the car upgrade process is complete for 2022 and they won’t have major technical innovations in the remaining races.
Rob Marshall: “Now we have switched all the way to 2023 preparation. There may still be some minor changes, but we have no major car updates planned until the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
We have not yet decided whether we will bring new parts to Abu Dhabi – it depends on many factors. For example, if parts of the machine are damaged as a result of incidents. Such things can have a major impact on our plans.
We have to calculate whether the development and production of new parts will pay off, whether they will remove the weaknesses of the machine or are simply an addition. If we bring new items to Abu Dhabi, won’t they hint to rivals in which direction we are working for next season? We consider many factors when making a decision.”
