Nick de Vries another practice session with Mercedes?

Nick de Vries has signed a contract with AlphaTauri for next season and has already visited the team’s base in Faenza where he has undergone a seat adjustment procedure. However, Nick will only be able to drive the AlphaTauri during the youth testing in Abu Dhabi, which will be held at the Yas Marina circuit after the end of the season.

“I don’t think Nick can join us on Friday because he has an active contract with another team,” said AlphaTauri boss Franz Tost. “Anyway, nothing like that is planned at the moment, but we hope to see him drive in the youth tests in Abu Dhabi.”

At the same time, the Dutch press writes that de Vries will work out the first free practice of the Grand Prix of Mexico. The driver gets behind the wheel of Mercedes and replaces George Russell.

In the stage in France, Nick replaced Lewis Hamilton, and when he gets back behind the wheel in Mexico City, Mercedes will adhere to the rule according to which each team must give up a car twice during the season in Friday practice to a rider who has no more than two Grand Prix in his Formula 1.

Mercedes has not yet responded to reports that De Vries is participating in a training session in Mexico City.
