New Aston Martin ambassador Pedro de la Rosa shared his thoughts on team driver Lance Stroll. The Spaniard considers Lance an underrated racer and is confident that new partner Fernando Alonso will do a great job with him.
Pedro de la Rosa: “I think Lance is underestimated. Look at his career – he won every race series before joining Formula 1. How many drivers can boast of the same thing?
I had the opportunity to study and compare the telemetry of the riders in Spa, and I saw that only one went through the Pouhon corner with the throttle to the floor – Lance. It made a big impression on me. We all know how difficult this corner is and how much courage it takes to go through it with the pedal to the floor in qualifying.
I think Fernando and Lance will work great together. They have a noticeable age difference, Fernando is already an adult and they will help each other become stronger partners. One is 23, the other 41 – I think it will be a fantastic combination.”
