Daniel Ricciardo has already talked about plans to take a break from his career next year, but the Australian driver still has a chance to continue racing in Formula 1 in 2023. Haas team boss Günther Steiner made it clear that there is room would be for Ricciardo behind the wheel if a rider wanted to ride for Haas.
Günter Steiner: “If Daniel is interested in playing for our team, don’t hesitate to call me. I’m not going to run after him. I want Riccardo to decide what he wants first and then start negotiations.
I think he’s a good driver and I don’t know how he got to the current situation. I think he should figure things out for himself and decide what to do.
For Haas, having a rider like Ricciardo would be a big deal. Last year he won the race and now he has no job. I appreciate Daniel’s professional qualities, but I don’t know why he is not getting results now. He has to figure it all out for himself.”
