Haas has yet to decide on Kevin Magnussen’s teammate for 2023 – the team is believed to be choosing between current driver Mick Schumacher and Nico Hulkenberg. 1996 World Champion Damon Hill is convinced Haas must end their partnership with Schumacher and bring in an experienced rider.
Damon Hill: “Sometimes teams like Haas need a rider to help them out. Sergio Perez was one such driver for Force India and Racing Point and after many years he got his chance.
A Haas-level team is looking for a stable racer who can drive the car to the finish line and take every opportunity. They should give preference to such a rider and not look for someone promising.
Mick is not a racer at the level of Max Verstappen. He can be a good driver, but Nico Hulkenberg already has the experience that Haas needs.”
