New Formula E season includes 17 races

We wrote that the Formula E owners have signed a five-year contract to host the race in Cape Town – and now, with approval from the FIA World Motorsport Council, it is officially on the calendar.

The 2023 season will include 17 races, starting January 14 in Mexico City and ending July 30 in London. There is no longer a race in Seoul on the calendar and the location for the tenth and thirteenth stages will be determined later.

Alberto Longo, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Championship: “We are pleased to announce that one of the ninth season races in Formula E history will be held in Cape Town. We are all looking forward to seeing the third generation of machines fight against the backdrop of the legendary Table Mountain.

Due to renovations at the Seoul Olympic Stadium, which hosted our first races in South Korea earlier this year, we won’t be able to return there next year, but are exploring other options in South Korea. We are in talks with other cities and circuits to fill in available data.”
