On Sunday, October 23, Sochi Autodrom will host the fourth round of the Russian endurance racing series Russian Endurance Challenge (REC). Competitions returned to the Primorsky circuit for the first time since 2016.
The final four-hour endurance race REC SOCHI AUTODROM 4h concludes a successful 2022 season. Currently, the entry lists include forty-seven crews and more than one hundred and ten pilots, including the best racers in Russia, who have repeatedly risen to the podiums of international championships.
Given the number of participants, the organizers have abandoned the idea of listing the results of the series immediately after the fourth leg in order to avoid mistakes. The final results will be announced in Moscow in November.
The final stage battle will take place in five classes: CN Sport Prototype, CN Sport Prototype 1.6, GT Pro, GT Light and GT. The Marussia B2 car of the NRG MOTORSPORT team will start in Sochi for the first time. Crew #2 consists of Nikita Nikitin, Mikhail Mikhin and Alexei Krylov in the GT class.
The leader of the general classification, Capital Racing Team (Mercedes GT3 No. 13 Denis Remenyako and Mikhail Alyoshin), will not be able to participate in the race. At the same time, a new member of the REC KTM Racing Team on a rare KTM X-BOW vehicle for Russian motorsport (No. 71, Andrey Goncharov and Andrey Maslennikov) will seriously compete with Yadro Motorsport (Mercedes GT3 No. 48, Sergey Stolyarov, Rinat Salikhov) and IY Engineering (Marussia B1 GT No. 7, Vitaly Larionov, Michael Belov).
The leader of the CN class, a fierce contender for the championship in the general classification, the crew No. 26 of the G-Drive Racing team of Roman Rusinov and Sergey Afanasiev, will delight the public with their participation.
The peloton was filled with participants from different classes. For example, in Sochi, two prototypes of the Legends-Evo and Mitjet of the YAKHNICH DRIVE team (No. 81) and the BMW E92 of the Classic Car Racing team (No. 92) will start for the first time.
The start of the four-hour race will be given at 2:00 PM Moscow time. The live broadcast is on the Start TV channel as well as in the ROSGONKI community. Admission is free for spectators on the track.
Igor Ermilinhead of the REC organizing committee: “The series continues to develop, the number of participants is increasing, new big names appear – at this stage, Roman Rusinov, Sergey Afanasiev, Alexander Vartanyan, Mikhail Loboda, Shota Abkhazava and many other famous racers are starting.
It is also worth noting that in no other Russian series you will see such a variety of vehicles and classes. Next year we will further expand the diversity of participants and the season will be expanded to five stages.
