Robert Schwartzman holds first practice in Austin

Robert Schwartzman takes part in the first free practice of the American Grand Prix. The Ferrari test driver will be behind the wheel of Charles Leclerc’s car. In the second training session, the Monegask returns to the cockpit.

For Robert Schwartzman, who drives under an Israeli racing license, this will be his debut in the official session of the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Robert Schwartzman: “The 2022 season was very difficult because I have no planned participation in racing series. Instead, I spent all my time working for the Scuderia. I’ve worked a lot on the simulator and I’m very happy to have contributed to the team’s efforts. The experience I have gained this year has taught me a lot and helped me become a better rider.

Debuting in the official Formula 1 session with Ferrari is a great honor for me. I am the first rider in many years to have this opportunity, so next Friday will be special for me. I’m excited, but at the same time I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of this car for the first time and compare the simulation experience with reality.

The COTA trail is very interesting and quite difficult. I’ve never ridden this track before, so I’m waiting for the first time. I prepared for the simulator, but now I’m waiting for the opportunity to evaluate the track in real life.
