Okon hopes Austin track will fit Alpine car

After a good performance in Japan, where Esteban Ocon finished fourth, the French Alpine F1 driver hopes to show a good result in Austin as well.

Esteban Okon: “We performed well in Japan, that’s for sure. The whole race we fought Lewis, and it was fun, I had a lot of fun. It is of course great that we have earned a lot of points for the team and returned to 4th place in the Constructors’ Championship.

This is very important for Alpine and shows that the team has managed to add that the technical innovations work, and we have also prepared something for this weekend. Everything is going well and if our car did well in Suzuka then I hope the track in Austin will also fit on the A522.

Of course we have to be careful with predictions, because last year the American weekend was not a success for us. We keep this in mind, so we tried to analyze in detail all the information gathered here in 2021, when everything went wrong.

Of course we now have a much faster car and I hope that we will work here no less confidently than in the previous phase.
