At Austin, Haas F1 managed a run of seven consecutive races without breaking points – Kevin Magnussen finished ninth…
Kevin Magnussen (9th): “I’m happy. For us, for the US team, it was very important to earn points in the home Grand Prix, especially at the weekend when we announced a contract with a new title sponsor.
Of course I am disappointed that I lost the eighth position to Sebastian on the last lap, but he drove flawlessly, at such moments you understand why he is a four-time world champion.
We have developed a strategy ourselves that has become successful. It’s great when such a small team like ours is able to impose a real fight on the opponents.
Mick Schumacher (15th): “Today we were in good shape, but on the track I caught some debris that seriously damaged the car – and I couldn’t do better. After that the car started behaving differently, I couldn’t drive at the same pace, which was promising in the beginning. It’s a shame I’m unlucky again.”
