Kevin Magnussen is optimistic about the Mexico City stage, although he had problems on an altitude track before…
Q: What do you associate the Rodriguez brothers track with?
Kevin Magnussen: The Mexican Grand Prix is a fantastic event. The fans love Formula 1, this is a unique place, I’m looking forward to feeling it again.
Q: The track is at an altitude of more than two thousand meters above sea level, which can only affect the cars. How hard is it to race in such conditions?
Kevin Magnussen: It won’t be easy for the cars and the drivers. One of the problems is the operation of cooling systems and the aerodynamics in thin air are much less efficient. We will set the downforce to the maximum, but in fact it will be about the same as in Monza.
The race is also difficult for riders. Last year I felt the symptoms of being in the highlands.
Q: Can you hear the reaction of the crowd in the stadium from the cockpit as the track is being laid?
Kevin Magnussen: The continuous section in the stadium makes this Grand Prix even more unique. This place has a great atmosphere. This is especially noticeable during the parade of pilots, but in the race you can hear the general rumble as you drive through the stadium.
