Esteban Ocon: stage in Mexico City will be a good test

Esteban Ocon finished in the top ten in Austin and would love to score points in Mexico City to help the team fight for fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship…

Q: Esteban, how do you evaluate the results of your performance in Austin?
Esteban Ocon: From today [до рассмотрения протеста Alpine],,I scored one point in Austin, which is not so bad after starting from the pitlane. The car was fast, but you can’t say the weekend was perfect. We are looking for an opportunity to add to return to the fight in better form in Mexico City.

I have always enjoyed performing in Austin, a welcoming city with very passionate fans. I am already looking forward to returning next season.

Q: This weekend the race will be held in Mexico City. What do you associate this track with?
Esteban Ocon: With a high altitude – more than 2000 meters. This has consequences for the functioning of cooling systems, aerodynamics and the behavior of tyres. But I like this track with a varied combination of corners and straights, with three DRS zones.

On the final bend, the track goes through the famous baseball stadium area and then returns to a very long straight. The stage on the track named after the Rodriguez brothers will be a good test for the team and our car. I’m looking forward to starting the weekend in front of the amazing Mexican fans.

Q: How are you feeling for the last three races?
Esteban Ocon: Personally I feel good, I am very motivated to end the year on a high level. Even though the season is coming to an end, it’s important to stay focused and give your best in each of the remaining stages.

The team faces four difficult weeks – the stages in Mexico, Brazil and Abu Dhabi, but we will do everything we can to achieve the goal – fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship. Now we are fully focused on Mexico, how we can work out our program on Friday morning.
