Following the decisions taken by the FIA on violations of the financial regulations, the team leaders’ views were divided. For example, if Otmar Safanaur is happy with everything, and he thinks the fines issued by the Red Bull Racing federation are quite adequate, Andreas Seidl thinks the offenders have been treated too liberally.
Andreas Seidl: “I didn’t see Christian Horner’s press conference, I’m not interested, but on the bright side of this story, the FIA has done a good job doing accounting audits. Nine teams met the financial constraints, and one did not, and the federation was able to identify and confirm this.
But personally I am not convinced that the punishment does not correspond to the seriousness of the offenses committed. I think the penalties should be stricter in the future. However, there is no reason to believe that new violations will come to light by the end of this year.
In 2022 we had fruitful talks, in which all teams, representatives of the FIA and Formula 1 participated, after which adjustments were made to the financial regulation. At these meetings, everyone exchanged views and no one expects that this year after the decisions made there, there will be some regulatory violations that will lead to fines.”
