By winning the Mexico City Grand Prix, Max Verstappen set a new Formula 1 record of fourteen races won in one season. The previous achievement was by Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel – they had thirteen wins each.
After finishing the race in Mexico City, Sebastian Vettel congratulated the Red Bull Racing driver and expressed the hope that Max will not stop there, bringing the number of wins this season to sixteen.
“Max has done well,” Racingnews365 quoted Sebastian Vettel. “He has had a difficult season but I hope he gets 16 wins by the end of the year because any other result will be a disappointment.
Red Bull has achieved excellent results. The team is still made up of people I know, so I’m very happy for them. Obviously they have improved a lot after last season – this year they have a great car. They won races even though their car was heavier than the competition, but now they have lost weight.
Red Bull has a fast car, but Max is doing a great job.”
