Qualification
After winning qualifying in Mexico City, Max Verstappen took sixth pole of the season and 19th of his career. One more pole and he will match their numbers with Damon Hill and Valtteri Bottas.
In the last eleven Grand Prix at the Rodriguez brothers circuit, 11 different racers have won pole position.
George Russell qualified second, beating Lewis Hamilton by just 0.005 seconds for the first time since the summer break.
Lewis Hamilton qualified third and repeated his best result of the season – and the third time in the last four Grands Prix started in the top three.
For the first time this season, both Mercedes cars started in the top three.
Sergio Perez qualified fourth – in the same position as a year ago.
Valtteri Bottas’ tenth place was Alfa Romeo’s best result since the Miami Grand Prix in May.
Fernando Alonso qualified ninth and reached the qualifying final for the first time in his career in Mexico City. The Spaniard got ahead of teammate Esteban Ocon and won him a tense qualifying showdown during the season. In this pair, the score is 11:8 in favor of Alonso.

After winning the Mexican Grand Prix, Max Verstappen took the 14th win of the season – an all-time record in Formula 1 history and the 34th in his career.
In the absence of serious competitors, Verstappen set a new record for the number of points achieved per season – 416 out of 544 possible (76.47%) – and that is two stages before the end of the season. The previous record was held by Hamilton – 413 points (out of 546) in 2019.
Verstappen’s win in Mexico City was Red Bull’s ninth in a row – the team’s best performance, second only to McLaren’s record-breaking 11 wins in a row in 1988.
Red Bull set a new team record in the 2010-2011 seasons with 19 consecutive podium finishes.
Lewis Hamilton finished second, his 190th career podium and 52nd runner-up. In addition, he has 103 wins and 35 third places.
Only Verstappen and Leclerc have led Hamilton in points in the last 12 races since the Canadian Grand Prix.
Sergio Perez finished third and regained second place in the individual standings and is now five points ahead of Leclerc.

In his 100th Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc finished sixth, breaking a career-best streak of five consecutive podiums.
Daniel Ricciardo won a 10-second penalty during the race and finished seventh, earning points for only the seventh time during the season. His team-mate Lando Norris finished ninth – McLaren won four more points from Alpine in the battle for fourth in the Constructors’ Championship, two stages before the end of the season, by just seven points.
Valtteri Bottas finished tenth, ending the longest streak of ten races without points in his career.
