Aston Martin didn’t earn points in Mexico City, both drivers were able to finish, but the cars didn’t have enough speed…
Sebastian Vettel (14th): “We didn’t have enough speed in the race. In the beginning I managed to hold on to my rivals, then I had a bit of bad luck – a damaged Tsunoda car returned to the track in front of me, I lost a lot of time behind it and became an easy target for the rest.
The balance left something to be desired, the second half of the race proved difficult. Fortunately, we were only one point behind Alfa Romeo in the Constructors’ Championship.”
Lance Walk (15th): “I had a great start and it was the best moment of my race. In the fight against Gasly, he braked late and attacked, but left no room for me. However, this incident did not change anything radically.
There were some funny moments in the race, but we struggled with the car and the tyres. We will try to understand the reasons for this decline and try to improve to get the most out of the last two races of the season.”
Mike Krak, Team Principal: “In this race it was important to confidently control the condition of the brakes and tires. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of our riders and engineers, this didn’t work out.
Lance had a great start and gained five positions back, and Sebastian handled skillfully and accurately throughout the race, but his car didn’t have enough speed to beat rivals.
Today it was important to minimize losses in the battle for sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship, in two weeks we will continue to fight in Brazil.
