Athletistic/ Formula 1. Legendary Italian engineer Mauro Forghieri has died aged 87.

From 1962, Forghieri headed the technical department of racing cars, devoting himself mainly to Formula 1 and sports car prototypes, introducing innovations that marked the history of engines, such as the installation of fins on the vehicles.

Under his leadership, Ferrari won a total of 54 World Grands Prix, four World Drivers’ Championships and seven World Constructors’ Championships, according to www.gazzettadimodena.it.
