Vasser: We want to extend the positive streak

Alfa Romeo has had a good start to the season and is going to Barcelona with optimism, hoping to impose a fight on rivals in the middle group of teams…

Frederic Vasseur, Team Principal: “At Barcelona we want to continue our positive streak. Now the goals in each stage will be similar – both cars in the second part of qualifying, one in the final and points on Sunday. This does not mean that we underestimate the difficulty of the task in Barcelona or elsewhere – the battle in the middle group will be intense and interesting all season long, in every race the gaps will be minimal.

It will be interesting to understand how the car upgrades that all teams are preparing now will affect their form. It has not been easy for our team to cope with the consequences of recent incidents, but the staff have worked hard and seriously, we have something to test again this weekend.

The joining of forces may change a bit in the coming phase, but I am confident that our team has done everything necessary to be among those better able to handle this task.

Valtteri Bottas: “We had a great performance in Miami, with every good result the will to achieve more grew. We know that in Barcelona we can claim the leadership in the middle group again. Every weekend we have an interesting battle with our direct rivals and I don’t expect this weekend to be any different.

It is extremely important that the weekend runs smoothly. The track in Barcelona is well known by all teams, it is only possible to stay ahead of rivals by working hard.

We will arrive in Barcelona in a much better mood than we left after the winter testing. This just goes to show how well the team has recovered from the difficulties we faced in February. I want to repay this work with a good result.”

Guanyu Zhou: “The Barcelona event is another important Grand Prix this season. Everyone knows the Spanish circuit very well, I want to get the maximum result to recover from the disappointment after the technical retirement in Miami, where the car was fast and I could earn some points.

Driving this car will not be a new experience for me, I worked here for winter testing. And although the car has changed since then, this experience will serve as an advantage. I will fully focus on how I can get the most out of myself and get the result that our team deserves. The goal remains the same, but the confidence that I can achieve it grows with each race.
