Riccardo: An interesting weekend awaits us in Sao Paulo

On the eve of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo discussed the team’s goals for the coming weekend.

Lando Norris: “Interlagos has an interesting track to race. A rich history and great Brazilian fans guarantee an indescribable atmosphere. I’ve raced this track twice and scored points both times, so the plan is to continue this trend.

Thanks to the sprint we get the chance to take up higher positions at the start of the race. I hope we will earn extra important points. The end of the season is in sight and we will do our best.”

Daniel Riccardo: “I am happy to come to Sao Paulo. There are magnificent fans in the stands, creating a carnival atmosphere. On the track it is very interesting to drive thanks to the slope and height differences in the turns. All this should contribute to an interesting battle in the race and an interesting weekend for the fans, thanks in part to Saturday’s sprint.

After a good result in Mexico City I am in a good mood. We will try to maintain the momentum we have gained in the last two races of the season. Forward!”

Andreas Seidli, Team Principal: “The team is looking forward to the weekend at the Circuit José Carlos Paz. The track is interesting, it features profiled curves, the famous “Senna-esques”, elevation changes and bumps – it’s interesting how the new generation of cars will show themselves in such conditions and whether there will be more opportunities to overtake.

In addition, we are waiting for the weekend in the sprint format, which will interest fans and teams. We have to prepare for some difficulties, but we only have one training session on Friday at our disposal. In addition, we have to take into account that we may need spare parts, because on this track there is a high risk of damage to the car. At the same time, the sprint is an opportunity to earn extra points, so the audience should be interested.

Ahead of the final double stages of the season. We have to keep working and do our best.”
