Last Friday, Alpine Racing Academy member Oliver Caldwell completed a full day of testing in last year’s Alpine A521 in Bahrain.
During the day, the British driver completed more than 100 laps, covering a distance of 520 kilometres. This was Oliver’s second experience driving a Formula 1 car.
“I had a great experience driving the A521 in Bahrain on a great track,” said Caldwell on the test. – The car is incredibly fast and again left me speechless. I drove more than 520 kilometers in a day, performed qualifying and race simulations, worked out the restart procedure.
This time when I was behind the wheel again I felt better prepared, so I picked up speed faster and felt the car compared to my first experience at Silverstone, where everything was new to me.
I am very grateful to the Alpine team and everyone for their support and belief in me. I got to drive – I had a great day.”
