Aston Martin is just four points behind Alfa Romeo for sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship. British team riders Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll believe they will have a chance to close the gap to their rivals in the Sao Paulo stage.
Sebastian Vettel: “I have incredible memories of the Brazilian stage, including the dramatic victory in the championship in 2012. It’s great to play this great track for the last time.
Our team did not perform well in Mexico City, but in general things have been good lately. We are resolutely battling Alfa Romeo in the Constructors’ Championship and will do our best to get the most out of the car in the two remaining races. It is a difficult task, but we are ready for it.”
Lance Walk: “Interlagos has a great track with a lively atmosphere in the stands. It’s an old-fashioned circuit with lots of corners – you’ll always be rewarded if you do it right.
If we squeeze the most out of the car this weekend, we can earn critical points. Sprint offers more options for this. You can also overtake in Brazil, which should strengthen our position.”
