Formula 1 teams will be able to spend around $10 million more in the 2023 season than the current championship, according to Motorsport.com.
According to the base value prescribed in the regulations, each team’s marginal expenses next season will be $135 million.
Beyond the limit, teams will receive around 20 million more. For each race in 21 stages, an increase of 1.2 million is due. The calendar will include 24 stages, so teams will receive an additional 3.6 million.
In the summer, the teams agreed with the management of the championship to amend the budgets by 3.1%. In addition, inflation has exceeded the 3% threshold, and according to the regulations, the amount of costs is also increasing.
Another portion of the funds the team intends to receive at the expense of sprint weekends. In the new season, there will be six, which is equivalent to an increase of $900,000. Therefore, the spending limit will reach approximately $155 million.
The publication notes that in 2022 teams can spend up to $145.57 million.
The limit does not include the salaries of the pilots and the three highest paid employees.
At the end of 2021, Red Bull exceeded the spending limit, the Austrian team was fined $7 million.
