Fernando Alonso (5th): “Very good flight. The car was fast, we opted for an alternative strategy and after the safety car left at the end of the race I was able to overtake Sergio Perez on fresher tyres. I also tried to attack Charles Leclerc, but his car was too fast.
Yesterday I made a mistake when Esteban and I collided, so today I mainly wanted to recover. We needed these glasses for Abu Dhabi. Another race with Alpine is just around the corner, I am fully focused on the battle.”
Esteban Ocon (8th): “Great result for the team. On two machines we used different strategy options and were able to earn 14 points.
Fernando and I knew we had to perform flawlessly after yesterday’s failure – and we could bounce back. The season is not over yet, there is still a race ahead of us. In Abu Dhabi we will attack until the finish.”
