Formula E: Street artist is commissioned to paint a car

Ticket sales for the upcoming Formula E race in London have started today and in this regard, the stage organizers have decided to attract the attention of the public, especially the youngsters, in a somewhat unusual way.

The graffiti artist known as Mr Cenz (whose real name is Julian Fethin) has been commissioned to paint a Formula E car in his signature style, and as of today it can be seen in Shoreditch, which is considered the center of London’s street art.

Jamie Reigl, Executive Director of the World Electric Car Championship: “Formula E is unique because we race in cities around the world, such as New York, Berlin, Rome, Seoul and London.

Now we have decided to place our electric racing car on the streets of East London. By inviting the artist Mr Cenz to paint it, we emphasize the importance of integrating with the culture and community of the cities where our races take place.

Bringing local attention to our races accelerates the transition to electric transport and helps people get involved in the fight against climate change.”

It was also announced that the well-known British DJ, singer and producer Jax Jones will provide the cultural program on the London stage of Formula E.

The double stage of the electric series takes place in the British capital on the last weekend of July.
