Athletistic/Formula-1. ‘Red Bull’ driver Max Verstappen spoke about the situation that happened during the Brazilian Grand Prix with his teammate Sergio Perez.

Verstappen answered the question of what prevented him from taking pole at the Brazilian Grand Prix

At the Brazilian Grand Prix, Verstappen refused to return Pérez to the position before the finish line, citing personal reasons.

“It’s not about position. I don’t care if it’s first, second or tenth. I explained everything to Mexico, everyone understood everything and accepted my words. Then we are went to Brazil, and I just thought we would try to achieve the best result.

We had misunderstandings on Saturday during the sprint and on Sunday during the race, I wasn’t told anything about swapping positions or anything like that. I was only told about it on the radio in the last lap. I think the team should have already understood my reaction at this moment, based on what I said a week ago. After the race in Mexico, we had good discussions – we put everything on the table, and everything was decided. Looking back, we should have talked about it before because I was never a bad team player, I was always useful to the team, I always put the interest of the team first. . So I think we learned a lesson from that: we need to be a bit more open and communicate better with each other,” Verstappen said as quoted by RaceFans.
