In his final qualifying for Haas F1, Mick Schumacher overtook teammate Kevin Magnussen for the sixth time this season…
Michael Schumacher (13th): “The first session went well, and the second was just great. Less than two tenths were missing from the final – it’s nice to be so close. I am happy with this result and will prepare for the race.
We are close to the top ten, there is a chance to earn points and the AlphaTauri racers are very close. I hope we are ahead of them at the start and can control the situation. In the battle for position in the Constructors’ Championship it is very important for us to stay ahead of them at the finish. That’s what we’re going to focus on.”
Kevin Magnussen (16th): “We seemed to have taken a step forward compared to Friday, but due to traffic I had to stop for almost half a minute in the last sector before the fast lap, so I started on cold tyres. The battle was so fierce that even a tenth could have gotten me closer to the top ten.
Unfortunately, today we were unable to repeat what we did last week. In the race the battle will be no less fierce, tomorrow much will be decided by strategy and tire wear control.
