American racing driver Logan Sargent has completed the conditions for obtaining a super license in order to take the place of combat driver in the Williams Formula 1 team for the 2023 season.
It was enough for a 21-year-old Formula 2 driver to finish the championship no less than seventh in the standings. At the end of the final race in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, the American was fifth and finished the season in fourth place in the standings, receiving 30 points in the super license.
Williams boss Yost Capito said earlier that Sargent will be guaranteed a place in the team if he scores enough points for a super license.
Second place for the Williams will take current driver Alexander Albon. Canadian Nicholas Latifi will leave Formula 1.
