I understand why they finished fourth in the Constructors’ Championship. It’s not just about the car, it’s about the work of the team. It’s about the level of the engineers, the team’s approach and philosophy – I really liked this first experience.
If we talk about the car, it has a lot of grip on the front wheels, it handles very well in slow corners, which I have not been able to do this season.
New tires? It’s hard for me to judge. I spent a day with them in a previously unknown car. Judging by what they say, there is not much difference with this year’s tyres. And I don’t think they behave differently either.
There are still a lot of questions, but overall this car gives me what I want. There are always areas where you can improve. There is room for these improvements. But I knew Alpine had a fast car, and now I really felt it.”
