Australian racing driver Daniel Ricardo continue his career in “Red Bull” as the team’s third driver for the 2023 season.
The Australian has spent 12 seasons in Formula 1 and will not contest the next championship. Ricciardo’s last team was McLaren, where he spent two years. He previously drove for Red Bull in 2014-2018, winning seven races in a Bulls car.
“I’m very happy to be returning to Red Bull as the third driver. It’s something I’m really grateful for. For me personally, the opportunity to contribute and be in the best team in Formula 1 is extremely attractive and also gives me time to recharge and change direction. I look forward to being with the team and supporting work on the simulator, participating in testing and business activities, — quotes the words of the Ricciardo team website.
It’s great to have Daniel back in our family. He has great talent and a brilliant character. We are very happy to work with him again and look forward to what we will achieve together in 2023,” said team principal Christian Horner.
Two-time champion Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will remain Red Bull’s combat drivers for the 2023 season.
